Wanderlust: Sardinia

 

Miri von the soulfood traveller und mich zog es im April nach Sardinien, denn wir waren die Kälte aus Köln Leid und schon viel zu lange vom Meer weg, als uns lieb war.

Beste Entscheidung denn tatsächlich noch am Abflugmorgen herrschen Minusgrade in Köln und es war sogar Schnee angesagt.

Eine Woche Sardinien. Italien ist und bleibt eines meiner Lieblingsländer. Pizza, Pasta, Eis, Strände, das Lebensgefühl dort. Ich habe mich in die kleinen süßen italienischen Örtchen verliebt.

Und hier nun mein Resumee aus einer Woche Sardinien:

Wir haben in einer süßen und gemütlichen Unterkunft im Quartu Sant Elena wohnen dürfen und von dort aus unsere Erkundungstouren gestartet.

Cagliari ist eine wunderschöne Stadt im Süden von Sardinien mit vielen alten Gebäuden, verwinkelten kleinen Gassen und tollen Gelaterias. Definitiv einen Tagestrip wert.

Die Salinen um Cagliari laden übrigens dazu ein Flamingos zu beobachten. Morgens und Abends sind besonders viele zu sehen.

Um uns etwas Kultur und Geschichte der Insel zu gönnen, sind wir einen Tag nach Nora gefahren. Nora ist die älteste Stadt auf der Insel (wobei man hier von Ruinen spricht, aus der Römerzeit). Die Aquädukte und Thermalbäder und Mosaike sind extrem gut erhalten und ich habe mich ein wenig wie Indiana Jones gefühlt. Sehenswert, wenn man Ruinen mag.

Außerdem wurde uns das Dorf San Salvatore empfohlen. Ich habe mich wie in einer Zeitreise in die alten Westernfilme gefühlt. Lustig und interessant, aber kein Muss.

Bosa – eine süße kleine Stadt mit bunten Häusern und einer Promenade, die an Havanna erinnert. Die bunten Häuser sind absolute Highlights in Bosa und dort haben wir einige meiner Looks geshootet. Ich finde, die Stadt ist ein Tagestrip wert und man kann sie mit weiteren Stationen auf den Weg locker verbinden.

Und nun zu meinen Highlights des Sardinien Urlaubs: der Küste um Cala Gonone. Wir hatten Bilder von den Stränden an diesen Küstenabschnitt gesehen und waren uns einig, da müssen wir hin. Und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Die Strände dort sind umwerfend schön. Ein wahres Drohnen Paradies. Traumhafte Buchten, die man nur mit Motorbooten erreicht, türkisfarbenes klares Wasser, Marmorsteine. Jede Bucht war irgendwie einzigartig und jedes Mal haben wir gedacht, wieviele wunderschöne Farben kann der Ozean eigentlich hervorbringen. Meine Lieblingsbucht war Cala Biriola. Wir haben noch an Cala Mariolu und Cala Luna angelegt. Cala Goloritze ist leider nicht mit dem Boot anzufahren, dort kann man jedoch ca. 3 Std. Wanderung über Baunei auf sich nehmen.

Wir haben in Cagliari außerdem dem sehr netten und sehr talentierten Fotografen Cedric Dasesson kennenlernen dürfen. Er hat uns einige gute Tipps, was Strände angeht, gegeben und ich hatte das Vergnügen mit ihm ein Shooting in Masua machen zu können. Die Ergebnisse meiner Drohnenflüge dort und die Bilder von Cedric werde ich demnächst noch hier posten.

Miri from the soulfood traveller and I were wanderlusting to Sardinia, Italy and wanted to escape the cold here in Germany. We have been away from the ocean far too long. 

Best decision ever we would notice, because on the morning we left, it was freezing cold in Cologne and even snow was in the weather forecast. 

One week Sardinia. I love Italy and I love traveling there. Not just because of Pizza, Pasta, Gelato or the beaches but also because of the lifestyle there. I fell in love with the sweet Italian villages long time ago and this romance will remain. 

So here is my recap of one week of vacation in Sardinia: 

We lived in a cute little apartment at Quartu Sant Elena, nearby Cagliari and started our tours from there. 

Cagliari is a beautiful town in the south of Sardinia, with very interesting buildings, an old city centre, small streets and lots of amazing Gelaterias. It is worth to do a day trip there. 

 The salines around Cagliari are perfect if you want to spot some Flamingos. Best time to see them is in the morning or evening just before sunset. 

If you are interested in culture and history a trip to Nora would be perfect for you. Nora is the oldest city on the island (and I refer to a ruin because it is an old old city from ancient roman time). It is remarkable how good the ruins remained. The thermal parts of the city are still easy to see and also the floor mosaics are amazing and still there. 

We also had a look at the village of San Salvatore. I felt like a time traveller, taking me back to an old western town. It was fun, feeling like Indiana Jones, but not a must see. 

Bosa – such a sweet town with colourful houses and a promenade that reminded me of Havanna. The small bright houses are definitely the highlight of Bosa and worth the visit. We shot some looks there for my blog there as well. 

And now my highlights: the coastline of Cala Gonoe. We saw pictures of the beaches along this coast and just knew that we had to go there. And we were not disappointed in getting up early in the morning and driving three hours. The beaches there are just breath-taking. A true paradise for drone pictures. Amazing beaches, which can only be discovered with motorboats, blue shades of water, marble stones. Every beach was unique and every time I discovered another shade of blue. I cannot believe how beautiful and truly amazing the ocean is. My fav spot was Cala Biriola. We also stopped at Cala Marioulu and Cala Luna. You are only able to reach Cala Goloritze by a hike of three hours from Baunei. 

In Cagliari we also had the chance to meet the very talented photographer Cedric Dasesson. He gave us some secret spots and tips where to go and I even had a photoshoot with him in Masua. I will show you the results of my drone flights and the pictures Cedric took in another post later.
