Maybe one of the most beautiful trends this season: Folklore
Ethno and Folklore are again and again in fashion. Mostly in the 60s and 70s due to the Hippie Movement. Because of the on-going globalization culture is implementing its impact in fashion – influences of different countries have been updated to a new mix of folklore patterns and designs. Valentino and Alberta Ferretti refer with their designs back to certain cultural influences whereas others create their very own folklore and gypsy world.
Different cultures, myths and traditions put together in a melting pot this season. Designers created an amazing new Folklore movement with designs from older seasons and influences of the modern world. Karl Lagerfeld showed for Fendi his Fairsile-pattern with the Fendi writing. Etro showed quotes on Tibetan robes. We saw flowing hippie dresses with floral embroidery. Blouses with fringes and bobbles.
I love about the Folklore trend that different prints are mixed, because I love mix and match. Colours are extremely vibrant and shining this season and there is no difference in Folklore. For me it is a new version of the Boho trend. And I really hope we will continue to see Folklore next season as well.
