Wanderlust: Venice // Venedig

Ciao Venezia!

Vor gefühlt einer Ewigkeit war ich das letzte Mal in Venedig und da Bali dieses Jahr nicht stattfinden konnte, war klar Italien ist wieder dran und dieses Mal Venedig.

Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall ein wenig außerhalb von Venedig eine Unterkunft zu suchen, da es dort einfach etwas ruhiger und nicht so voll mit Touristen ist. Wir haben uns für Murano entschieden und dort in einem kleinen süßen Hotel gewohnt.

Wenn ihr Geld sparen wollt, dann kauft euch vor Ort ein Ticket für die Wasserbusse, die fahren fast rund um die Uhr und auch überallhin, wo ihr hinwollt, kleine Reisetour inklusive. Es gibt ein 1,2,3,5,7 Tagesticket mit jeweils unbegrenzten Fahrten an diesen Tagen. Das lohnt sich (7 Tage haben uns 72€ gekostet, 5 Tage kosten 52€ und 3 Tage 32€). Trotzdem sind wir vor Ort noch ca. 70km gelaufen (ein kleiner Eindruck, von dem was euch erwarten kann).

Ein Tag könnt ihr einplanen, wenn ihr euch in Venedig den Marktplatz, Dom, Rialto Brücke usw. ansehen wollt. Seid am Besten schon früh am morgen da, dann könnt ihr noch ein paar Fotos ohne Menschenmassen machen. Gondel fahren kostet übrigens 80€ für 35min. Den Luxus haben wir lieber in Essen investiert.

Zwei Restaurants würde ich euch ans Herz legen (denn ich wurde gewarnt, dass Essen in Venedig nicht immer schmeckt).

Versus Meridianem auf Murano – sehr schickes Restaurant im Industrielook mit Blick auf die Lagune. Alles wird frisch gemacht. Vorspeisen liegen bei ca. 5€, Pizzen zwischen 6-12€ und Pasta ebenfalls. Nachtisch liegt bei ca. 6€. Aperol Spritz ist überall sehr günstig, meistens ein Glas 3,50€. Hier gab es sogar einen viertel Liter Hauswein für 3€. Da soll noch einmal jemand sagen, Venedig sei ja sooooo teuer. Ich habe Bruschetta, Pizza Quattro Formaggio und Tiramisu gegessen und war im Himmel.

Spaghetteria 6342 A Le Tole (und Alla Corte) – hier werden die Nudeln frisch gemacht und das sieht man und schmeckt man. Preislich ein klein wenig mehr als bei Versus Meridianem (weil es auch viele Fischgerichte gibt), aber top Qualität und super lecker. Ich empfehle die Gnocchi in Gorgonzola Sauce (super super lecker). Nachtisch leider etwas kleiner als Portion, aber auch super lecker.

Noch ein Hinweis: in Venedig zahlt man „Copetto“, das ist eine kleine Servicegebühr von ca. 2-3€ p.P., wenn man im Restaurant/Cafe sitzt und etwas trinkt oder isst.

Und nun zurück zum Sightseeing. Wir wollten einen Strandtag einlegen und haben das auch getan, aufgrund von extrem guten Wetter. Lido ist wie eine andere Welt. Die Straßen sind hell und sehr schick (man fühlt sich wie in Frankreich) und dort ist es ebenfalls noch ein wenig günstiger als auf den anderen Inseln. Eine Kugel Eis gibt es dort zum Beispiel für 1-1,50€ (auf der Hauptinsel hat man auch 2€ bezahlt). Es ist viel entspannter dort und nur weniger Touristen sind dort anzufinden. Es gibt den „free Beach“ dort kann man mit Strandtuch liegen. Sonst muss man leider ca. 27€ für einen Sonnenschirm und zwei Strandliegen im typischen Italien Stil einplanen (für den ganzen Tag).

Und nun mein absolutes Highlight – Burano.

Kennt ihr bestimmt alle, wegen den süßen bunten Häusern. Einfach eine wunderschöne verträumte Insel mit Kanälen, die von bunten Häuschen geziert werden. Eines ist süßer und schöner als das andere und ein absolutes Paradies für Fotos. Aber auch hier, früher sein ist besser, denn sonst könnt ihr nur in den Nebengassen Bilder machen, denn auch hier kommen viele Touristen hin. Wir waren um 7 Uhr morgens dort und hatten die Insel quasi für uns alleine. Das war echt toll und wir haben schöne Bilder und Videos machen könnten (folgen noch).

So das wars von meinem Venedig – ich hoffe, ich habe euch Lust auf mehr gemacht und hier noch ein paar kleine Eindrücke für euch:

Ciao Venezia!

A lifetime ago I was in Venice for one day and because Bali was not going to happen this year we decided to do a five days trip to Venice. 

It is worth to look for accommodation a bit outside of the main attractions, because it is more calm there, cheaper and there are less tourists. We stayed in a small Hotel on Murano and it was a good choice. 

If you want to safe money, don’t go for water taxis but rather get yourself a ticket for the water busses. They are driving around almost the entire day and everywhere you can imagine and you get a little sight seeing tour if you are riding with them. There are different types of day passes: 1,2,3,5,7 day passes with unlimited rides on these days. Its really worth it (7 days will cost 72€, 5 days 52€ and 3 days 32€). Nevertheless we still walked approx. 70km during these five days (just to give you an idea what to expect). 

You can plan one day for sight seeing on the main island with Rialto Bridge, Canal Grande, Marcus Square etc. It’s great to be there early in the morning, then you might have a chance to take pictures without too many people. If you want to make a Gondola ride 35min. will be 80€. We did rather spend that money for food. 

I can recommend two restaurants (if you don’t want to look for good ones yourself, because I was told that the food in Venice is not always so yummy):

Versus Meridianem in Murano – very chic, industrial style and with a stunning view onto the laguna. Everything is made fresh. Startes are around 5€, Pizza between 6-12€, Pasta the same. Desserts are around 6€. Aperol Spritz is cheap everywhere, usually around 3,50€ and a quarter liter of the housewine was 3€. I think the prices are a good deal and not as expensive as expected. I had Bruchetta, Pizza Quattro Formaggio and Tiramisu and I was in heaven. 

Spaghetteria 6342 A Le Tole (and Alla Corte) – pasta is made fresh here and you can taste that. Prices are a little bit higher than in Versus Meridianem (because there are also a lot of fish dishes) but the quality is amazing and everything tastes very good. I recommend the Gnocchi in Gorgonzola Sauce. Dessert was a bit smaller than expected, but still very delicious. 

Note: in Venice you have to pay „Copetto“, a small service fee of 2-3€ per person if you are sitting down in a restaurant/cafe and drink or eat something. 

And now back to sightseeing. We wanted to spend a day at the beach, because the weather was just perfect. Lido is a different world. The streets are big and very bright and everything is very clean and chic (more like France). Everything is a little bit cheaper than on the main island and there are only a few tourists. Gelato is 1-1,50€ (on the main island you have to pay around 2€). Everything is more relaxed there. There is the „free beach“ where you can just lie down or you have to pay 27€ for an umbrella and two sunbeds (very typical Italian). 

And here comes my highlight – Burano. 

I am sure you have already seen pictures of the cute, colorful houses. Just a beautiful, cute island with some channels and around houses in every color you can imagine. One is more cute than the other and taking pictures there is just lots of fun. But same here, the earlier the better. Otherwise you will have to escape into the smaller places around the channels, still with cute houses but less tourists. We arrived around 7am and had the island for ourselves. We took some amazing videos and pictures (I will show them in a later post).
