Birthday Girl

Yes, today is my birthday – yay.

I am one year older, wiser, stronger. And usually I would not do such a post, but this year has been quite tough on me and I thought maybe this year it is time for a post on the birthday.

When I was a child I could not wait to get older and I would never believe when my grandma told me that one day I would wish to be a child again.

Don’t get me wrong – I love being the age I am right now. I have never felt more myself than today. I feel totally at easy with myself, how I look. Getting older for me has made me more self loving and beautiful for myself.

So the part I am missing is being a child again and not having the trouble of handling everything myself. Not knowing that sometimes life is so difficult and hard on you and brings you to your limits.

This year was tough. It was great but it really brought me to limits I never wanted to meet. I am still working on some of them but I am also thankful that at the end of the day I am still doing well. I am healthy, I have amazing family and friends and I have Karl. There are so many things to be grateful for every day – not only on your birthday.

I will always be that child inside, as you can see on these pictures. I love doing childish stuff sometimes, because it reminds me how carefree and easy life can be and how beautiful moments are. Children always see the collateral beauty in things and I want to cherish that each day too.

So today I invite you to watch my Instagram stories and have a very childish and fun birthday with me and my friends. But I also want to remind you that you should love and celebrate yourself every day. You are beautiful. You are unique. You are amazing. Nobody can take that away from you and you decide if you want to start your day with a smile.
